The Sony PDW700 is a popular choice for NZ and international television production, offering the convenience of instantly archived material recorded in camera to XDCam disc. Downloading and backing up is not required when shooting XD. XDCam has become the NZ television format of choice, shooting major reality TV series such as The Apprentice and Top Model. The Niche PDW700's can shoot a number of different formats such as HD422 / SD IMX50 & SD DVCam (SD firmware installed). The PDW700 is generally considered to be the TV work-horse camcorder, producing stunning 50Mb/s HD images.
